Eighteen years machining to print in the Penang FTZ
Northbeam started in 2007 as a six-machine job shop in Bayan Lepas, cutting brackets and fixtures for the multinationals along the free-trade-zone spine. What set it apart was ordinary and hard to copy: machinists who could read a drawing, hold a datum and say no to a job they could not do properly.
Eighteen years on, the works runs 42 spindles across mill and turn, a precision sheet-metal cell and an assembly floor, supplying semiconductor-equipment, medical-device, E&E and aerospace customers in Malaysia and four export markets. The principle has not changed: one accountable supplier, from raw bar to inspected, assembled unit — and a report with every shipment.
