Opto-mechanical mounts & baseplates for a photonics lab
Invar and aluminium mounts, kinematic bases and a stiffened optical breadboard for a Penang photonics group, held to tight flatness and parallelism and black-anodised.

The brief
A photonics research group needed opto-mechanical hardware with flatness and parallelism far tighter than general machining, low thermal drift on the critical parts, and a matte black finish that would not shed particles onto the optics.
What we made
We rough- and finish-machined with a stress-relief step between operations, lapped the critical faces, and measured every part on the CMM against the drawing datums. Invar was used where thermal stability mattered; the rest went in MIC-6 cast plate. All parts black-anodised and delivered with dimensional reports.
